JANICE E. BUTLER is a native of Greenville County. Janice and her husband, Nathaniel, live in Greer, South Carolina. They have two adult sons and two grandchildren.
Presently, she and Nathaniel are members of the Holland Park Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Nathaniel is a deacon, missionary, and Sunday school teacher. Janice is a servant leader in charge of the church’s widow’s ministry.
In 1999, Janice retired from BellSouth after completing 30 years of service. On December 20, 2001, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Clemson University. Soon after that, she received certification to teach elementary school students. However, due to her passion to share God’s Word with public school students, she felt it best to mobilize the believing community to reach school-aged young people for Jesus Christ through Christian Learning Centers of Greenville County (CLC), the grassroot and sponsoring organization for the Released-Time Christian Education program in Greenville County. She is the organization’s founding CEO, and with the help of board of directors, approximately 200 volunteers, a small staff, 60 churches, various businesses, and other likeminded organizations, CLC has served more than 21,000 students from a total of 39 public schools (elementary through high school). Since the organization’s inception in 1997, God continues to bless the group’s work. For example, more than 2,300 of CLC’s students have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and are now serving their communities and the Lord as Christian adults.
To better serve the community through CLC, Janice earned a Master of Arts degree in Christian
Ministry from North Greenville University. She graduated in December 2019.
Janice enjoys fishing, reading, building a personal media library, and spending date nights with her husband.
